A plant stress signal at the edge of a cancer-biology question. We are fascinated by the possibility and committed to following the experiment wherever it leads.
The evidence boundary
The selected papers below study cells, isolated biological systems or animals. They do not establish that jasmonates prevent or treat cancer in people. We provide educational reading tools, with the primary sources and their limits in view. Read our research standards and corrections process.
THE OCTOBER READING PATH
Begin with a question you can check.
Four original articles connect the experimental finding to its model, its primary source and the work still needed.
A compelling cell result is a reason to investigate. Its evidence stage is part of what it means.
01 / CELLS AND COMPONENTS
A controlled question.
Binding assays, isolated mitochondria and cultured cells help researchers test specific interactions and measured responses.
Boundary
They do not establish effects in a whole person. Cell identity, material, comparator and assay matter.
02 / EX VIVO AND ANIMAL MODELS
A different biological setting.
Cells obtained from people and examined outside the body remain ex vivo evidence. Animal experiments add physiology within a defined model.
Boundary
Neither is automatically an interventional human study. Species, immune status, tumor model and endpoint constrain translation.
03 / THE HUMAN QUESTION
A benefit still to establish.
Claims about people require research addressing human safety, exposure and clinically meaningful outcomes.
Boundary
The selected primary papers in this reading room do not establish cancer prevention or treatment benefit in people.
PRIMARY PAPERS / SELECTED READING
The experiment is the starting point.
Read the original record. These seven anchors introduce experimental mechanisms, breast-model questions and a crucial model-identity case. This is a selected reading list, not a systematic review.
How do metabolic, mitochondrial and tumor-growth measurements relate within the experimental models?
Keep this limit
BEL-7402, SMMC-7721 and LO2/HL-7702 have published authentication concerns [A01]. The exact stocks used here were not independently verified in this preparation. Tissue and normal-liver selectivity claims require caution. The HCC-LM3 mouse model is separate from those named-line concerns. Immunodeficient xenografts do not establish human safety or benefit.
Were the cells carrying the reported tissue label?
Keep this limit
Independent-stock authentication findings require caution with tissue and normal-liver comparator labels in S06. They do not determine the exact stocks used by Li and colleagues or resolve the separate HCC-LM3 mouse experiment.
Primary abstracts or accessible full texts were checked on October 5, 2026. The paid reader's source registry identifies access limits, including an unresolved wording conflict in a 2024 MCF-7 abstract. Linked publications retain their own rights and do not endorse this site.
KEEP A RECORD WORTH REVISITING
Your desk for the next paper.
The public articles and primary links stay free. These original downloads help you organize the reading, trace a claim and return to the unanswered question.
Research-reading aids for personal or internal use. No patient records, treatment plans, dosing, chemical products, accreditation or clinical outcome promise. The two products are separate from the garden bundle.
