Meet the compounds.
Follow the signal.

Rotate computed molecular models, inspect their chemistry and trace a selected Arabidopsis signaling route. Different stereoisomers have different roles; a rendered model is not a clinical result.

One computed PubChem conformer of the specified stereoisomer. The model is not an experimental crystal structure or a guaranteed receptor-bound pose. Colors and sizes are display choices.

A twelve-carbon plant signaling molecule.

Jasmonic acid

Jasmonic acid belongs to the jasmonate family of plant oxylipins. Plant enzymes can modify this acid into compounds with different signaling roles.

Structure identity, source and scientific limits

This model is the neutral (1R,2R), (Z)-side-chain stereoisomer in PubChem CID 5281166. Natural synthesis initially produces (+)-7-iso-JA, with a different ring configuration. These forms must not be treated as one interchangeable structure.

These 3D depictions use one computed PubChem conformer of each explicitly named stereoisomer. A molecule has conformational flexibility, and the displayed neutral structure is not a measurement of its form inside a cell. These are not experimental crystallographic models or proven receptor-bound poses.

PubChem CID: 5281166. Conformer: 0050958E00000001. Complete record: 33 atoms including 18 hydrogens, 33 bonds.

Jasmonate cancer research discussed here is preclinical. Findings in cultured cells, isolated components or animals do not establish prevention, cancer reduction, treatment efficacy or safety in people. Do not use these materials to self-treat or replace medical care.
